411 Technology Solutions was started by company president Brandon Marler in 2008 after voluntarily leaving his corporate IT position of seven year with a nationwide IT company of up to 250 employees.
- The company served the Fortune 500 market, with customers worldwide.
- The company’s core customers were in the retail industry, with multiple sites that had similar configurations.
- It was not uncommon for them to perform a 2000 site rollout.
- He was sent to places like Hawaii to install technology.
Brandon started in network administration, and moved into the position of head of the internal IT department. In that role, he was a consultant to the project engineers, the guys that did the technology designs for the large national retail clients they worked with.
For example, on one project, a large chain of retail stores was updating a number of pieces of equipment in each location. With a fixed cost for each, a way to do this quickly was needed to be created. Brandon was able to set a program that could be used on a laptop to flash the updates at each location within five minutes.
Brandon has acted in an IT project management role for years, on a number of projects, including large migrations where complete operations software systems had to be changed over. While still with the company, he survived a buyout by a larger IT company, and stayed with them for years until the politics of the job made it too difficult to function in that environment. It made the decision to start his own company relatively easy to make.
Brandon has about 10 years of information technology experience in enterprise IT in the Indianapolis, IN area.
